South African Nursing Council benchmarks with NCK

A high powered delegation from The South African Nursing Council (SANC) visited the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) for a benchmarking exercise.

The team was led by Ms SA Mchunu the Registrar/CEO, who was accompanied by the Senior Manager Education and Training, Ms SJ Nxumalo, the Senior Manager ICT, Mr L Ngema, the Professional Advisor, Ms M Ramatlo and  he Administrative Officer, Ms M Motshweni.

The delegation was received at the NCK Plaza by the Registrar/CEO, Ms Edna Tallam, Head of Education, Examination and Research, Ms Gladys Machira, Ag. Head of Registration and Licensure, Ms Gladys Omiya, Head of ICT, Ms Eva Wanjiku, Head of Finance, Mr Festus Musyoki, Head of Supply Chain Management, Mr Augustine

Abade with Ms Gladys Mberia and Ms Pamela Achieng, both, Registration and Licensure officers. The delegation was on a mission to benchmark with NCK, check on NCK innovations, the  eamless harmony between Ministry of Health and NCK, and visit NCK facility at large. SANC was also experiencing its fair share of challenges in examinations management, similar to what  he NCK had.

The delegation was keen to learn how the Nursing Council was able to fix the challenges encountered during; the overall examination process of setting, moderation & coordination process;  registration and regulation of private nurse practitioners; and how NCK does assessment of nursing and midwifery training institutions, clinical placement areas and hospitals.
